What does working integrative mean? Since every individual is unique, I draw upon a variety of therapeutic modalities, tailoring my approach to meet your specific needs. I adopt a person centred approach to create a safe and supportive environment, providing space for reflection and process
About me and my practice
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. My availability includes both online and face-to-face sessions, according to individual preference.
Over the past three years, I have been working with a charitable organisation, engaging with a diverse range of clients from various backgrounds and life experiences. A common theme among these clients is that seeking help can be challenging, and the journey towards healing is often non-linear. I consider it a privilege to support individuals along this path.
As a practising Christian, I believe that healing begins from within and extends outward. While we may not be able to change our past, we can develop new associations and create healthier pathways forward. This process requires patience, compassion, acceptance, and forgiveness towards ourselves and others. Healing is a gradual journey that necessitates time, commitment, and understanding.
My aims when working with clients are to:
- Create a safe and trusting therapeutic environment
-Promote self-awareness and self-compassion, recognising the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit
- Support you in developing new perspectives, enhancing relationships, and unlearning unhelpful thoughts and behavioural patterns.
Experience
Are you feeling constantly on edge, finding it difficult to relax or sleep, or overwhelmed by negative thoughts?
Do you have difficulty saying no due to fear of judgement, a tendency to please others, or a need to establish healthy boundaries?
I have experience supporting clients through a variety of life challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, relationship difficulties, guilt and shame, feelings of being stuck or transitioning through different life stages, and struggles with faith, among others.
Trauma and chronic stress can change how we perceive the world and disrupt our nervous system's natural ability to regulate affecting both mind and body. In our sessions together, I use gentle grounding techniques to help you reconnect with yourself.
